A diary of Gold Miner (1)

Saturday 12nd of May 1996

After four years with a dual-purpose license, I finally struck gold - much to my regret. It is my first discovery of gold. If only it had happened during my stint as a gold miner in Sierra Leone, how different things might have been. Nevertheless, the search for gold took me to Africa where a geologist and me did find deposits of the shiny stuff but they were too deep down for the Poulton bucket, spade and gold pan. In fact, they were so deep down that it would have required the combined digging equipment of six mining conglomerates to get it out. Nice try all the same.
